Life Lately

Photos via my instagram

So, here's the thing. Life just gets away from you sometimes. Right? Which is exactly what's been happening to me. I feel like I've said over and over that I'm going to jump back into blogging and have regular posts again, but that (sad face) hasn't happened yet. This is one of the busiest times of the year for me at work and since blogging has always been an after-work project, it's really taken a back seat lately. But on top of that, I ran myself ragged during the holidays with my blog collaborations and honestly I've just felt a little burnt out. So, instead of continuing to promise that I'm coming back this week or that week or soon, I'm just gonna say, I'll be back to a regular schedule around here when it's time. And right now, I'm just not feeling inspired at all. I know my fellow bloggers can relate - it's a rut, it's writer's block, and it just sucks. I want to be here, I want to be posting, I want to be collaborating with brands - but the spark is just not there right now.

So, what have I been doing lately, you ask? I've been spending a lot of time with my friends and traveling to see them. Which always leaves me feeling like myself again. I've been doing a lot of soul searching (which I talked about in this post). I've been contemplating life changes and if it's time for something new. I've been eating a lot of Trader Joe's cookie butter. By the spoonful, usually. I've been mastering a new skin care routine (which I talked about in this post). I've become completely obsessed with snapchat and how fun it is (follow me: julie-leah). I've watched the entire series of Mad Men on Netflix and moved on to Friday Night Lights (the inspiration behind this tweet). I've found complete joy in my church and the happiness it brings me. And I've been mentally planning my summer to-do list which so far includes museums, a concert, and Dollywood.

Things will be back to normal soon, but for now I just need this time to catch my breath and enjoy my life outside of the internet. I don't want to give up this blog or the community that I feel so lucky to be part of. I'm absolutely not ready for that. But for now, I just need a minute to find some inspiration again and give you great content. There may be a post here and there for a while until I'm really back in the swing of things. Thank you for understanding. In the meantime, if you're looking for some great blogs to follow, check out my sidebar. And, as always, you can find me on twitter, instagram, and snapchat (julie-leah).

xo, Julie
