Sparkle and Shine

(Images via 1, 2, 3)

Hello, everyone! Welcome back from the long weekend!

For me, the last few days consisted of planting flowers and sprucing up the outside of my house, shopping around for a few things for the inside of the house (will share pictures very soon), and spending some much-needed time with my family. All in all, it was the most perfect holiday weekend one could ask for.

I was inspired by the sparkly nature of the photos above for today's post. One of my favorite recent finds is Society Social, created by Roxy of My Cup of Te. The SS motto, "live sparkly," inspired me to snap a few photos of some favorite sparklies in my own life.

Enjoy!

Friday's Fancies: Red, White, Oooh

(Images via Style My Pretty)

***

Aren't we all happy to see another Friday?! Especially one that starts a three-day weekend? Well, this girl is completely overjoyed! Because of the holiday, this past Monday was my last Monday morning commute until we go back to school in August. Needless to say, I'm not a Monday person. Morning person, yes. Monday person, no way.

I'm linking up again today with my friend {av} for her Friday's Fancies series. She posted yesterday that if we were needing some inspiration that a Memorial Day outfit would be a great idea. Agreed. However, keeping with the Brown Eyed Belle aesthetic, I have to share some gorgeous images before the outfit reveal.

I found this stunning red, white & blue photo shoot while browsing Style Me Pretty last week and thought it would be perfect to include in today's post. The inspiration behind the shoot is that the bride receives a 'save the date' for when her soon-to-be hubby will return from military service. She and her maids await his arrival at the airport. The soldier and his bride are married right there on the tarmac and enjoy an intimate all-American reception in an airplane hangar (complete with milkshakes and Coke floats!).

I took {av's} advice and put together these two looks inspired by the holiday weekend. The first, a cookout ensemble, the second, a pool lounging/beach frolicking set.

Happy Thursday, friends!
Thank you so much to all of you who have entered my recent giveaway! It will be open until next Tuesday so you have plenty of time get your name in the drawing!

I know I've mentioned it before, but I am a huge fan of the newly established Matchbook Magazine, as I know so many of you are, as well. It has the most charming features and articles, I can't imagine there isn't something in there for everyone! Katie, Jane, and Fallon are the girls we all wish were our best friends- stylish, witty, talented and all-around sweet as can be. If you aren't familiar with Matchbook, hop on over and get acquainted. Until then, enjoy these snapshots from their first few issues!

There's a Matchbook questionnaire that the ladies often ask the people whose articles are featured in the magazine. Here's my take on the girls' inquiry...

I also created this set on polyvore. For me, this is the quintessential Matchbook girl.
