Friday's Fancies: New Year, New You

 (Image)

The scene above is one of my favorites ever from Sex and the City. No, I didn't want her to end up with the Russian, but I loved the sexy, mysterious story that was written for this season of her life. As with the scene, the dress she wore will always be a favorite as well.

Carrie: How about I read you a little bit of my favorite poetry?
Aleksandr: Please.
Carrie: (reads from Vogue) "Cocktails at Tiffany's calls for classic charm. Oscar de la Renta sleeveless silk full-skirted dress with black patent leather bow belt." Now that is pure poetry.

I wanted the outfit I created for today to reflect what this year embodies for me, and I couldn't think of a better inspiration outfit. It's time for really living, embracing every moment, doing what I want to do and not letting fear stop me. If there ever was a dress that said Julie, it's that one. But instead of trying to recreate my own "Oscar de la Renta in McDonald's" moment, I opted for a little twist. For me, it definitely says "2013, you're mine."

I was team Big to but I loved her clothes during the Russian period but I think all true fans did not want her with Alex! I loved that dress so much, great choice. I just got the S&TC DVD collection for Xmas!
