Let's start with a lesson in dialect - one that I believe everyone (no matter where you're from) should master. Ready? Repeat after me: App-uh-latch-uhn. One more time: App-uh-latch-uhn. Appalachian. Very good. Now we're all on the same page.
On Monday night, I put on my boots (ok, booties) and went to the Appalachian Fair in Gray, Tennessee. The fairground is about forty-five minutes from where I live and always worth the trip. Dan + Shay were the musical entertainment for the opening night of the fair, and I reserved the tickets the day they went on sale. I had to actually pick up the phone and call a box office (hello, 1985). If you follow me on snapchat then you saw some snippets of the show. They are ah-mazing live. At one point the power went out on the stage and they had to perform a few songs acoustically. I always say, artists show their true talent when they're put on the spot like that. It was everything.
The show didn't start until 8 and since we had reserved seats, we got there a little early and just wandered around - taking in the sights and smells (funnel cake!) of the fair. The baby animals may have been my favorite part - are you surprised?! If you live close, you should definitely plan to go! The entertainment line-up this year is incredible! And the fried food. Fried oreos, anyone?!
And the sunset that night, y'all. I can't even put it into words and these photos don't do it justice. . .

Your picture of the sunset here at home is absolutely gorgeous. I haven't been to the Appalachian Fair in years. Your pictures look awesome though. I think
Lovell the beginning of how to pronounce Appalachia....that kills me more than anything.
