Spring Spruce Up: Living Room

Over the weekend I was finally able to pull together my living room redo! This is definitely the most significant of my spring spruce up projects. Most of the pieces had been piled up in my guest room waiting to be styled and waiting for a few DIY projects to be finished before the room could be put back together. I couldn't be happier with how this room came together. I was on edge the whole time wondering if the pieces/fabrics/random finds were going to work once everything was in place - and wondering if my pink wall was going to be a big mistake. Thankfully, though, it's exactly how I envisioned it. It's bright and fresh - and just girly enough to make my heart nearly burst. Lots and lots of photos and details - read on!

Design Darling matches - Bee/Worcester Jar

Jars found at Marshalls // "J" found at Marshalls // Eiffel tower from World Market
Gold tray from Tuesday Morning // Vintage blue & white bowl

The pictures over the couch were a lucky find at Ross several years ago - $40 each! My new coffee table/ottoman was a steal from T.J. Maxx - it's kind of where all my spring spruce up ideas began :)

All the pillows are old and I had them custom reupholstered (and added tassels!).

Candle sticks found at Home Goods // Design Darling candles (sold out) // Glass votives found at T.J. Maxx
Decorative ball from Marshalls // White frame from T.J. Maxx (framed J. Crew style guide page)

These tables were dark, stained wood. One can of primer and three (maybe four, now that I think about it!) cans of old fashioned white Rust-Oleum and I'm completely smitten.

Lamp from T.J. Maxx // Circle E Candle in Bird of Paradise (the best candle!) // Vintage brass swans
Framed art from New Orleans (thanks, Melanie!) // Candle snuffer from World Market

The only thing missing is a rug under my coffee table, but I just couldn't wait to share! So many of these pieces (most, actually) were snagged on clearance shelves and from discount stores. My biggest splurge were the custom pillows - but I don't regret those for one minute! I knew I couldn't afford to purchase new furniture right now - and really didn't want to. But I knew I wanted to do something to brighten up my space and make it more "me." I'm kind of in love! My goal for sharing my home projects is not only to give you inspiration, but to prove that a fabulous space can be achieved on a budget and there's no reason old things can't be made new again with a few coats of paint!

I just love it! Is it sad I recognized most of the items because I go to Home Goods at least 3 times a week?? You did a great job!
