All Tied Up in a Bow: 90s Style

(Very 90s, no?)

Well, readers I don't have much of an explanation for this post. I went over to my parents house for the holiday weekend. On Monday my mom was off from work and decided we needed to clean out some drawers. Well, low and behold what did we find in the first drawer but my childhood hair bows. Yea, we're talking circa 1990-1996.

I couldn't resist but to take some photos of my favorites for you all. My mom and I reminisced for probably two hours about the bows and the outfits that went with the bows, it was a riot. So, here you are readers, for your viewing pleasure.....

~~~~~~~~~~
Minnie always was one of my favorites
 Old McDonald had a farm
~~~~~~~~~
The Fourth of July Collection.....

~~~~~~~~~~
Summertime bows....
Picnic, anyone?
 Here, fishy fishy
 I decided they made much more of a statement together.
 Basket of strawberries
~~~~~~~~

Mardi Gras- Throw me somethin' mista!

 Merry Christmas!

~~~~~~~~
Frilly Favorites.....
 Have you ever seen anything like it??
 Yep, that's no joke
 Gifted to me by my grandmother. I really wouldn't take anything for this one.
 I tried to put this one in Millie's hair, she wouldn't have it.
 Believe me, they get bigger....
  I told you they got bigger!
 I like to call this one the 'Jackson Pollock.'
And the last one, a Julie original made by my 5 year-old hands....
It's a classic!
Seriously, have you ever seen anything like these? Didn't think so!
~~~~~~~~~

While we're on the topic of 90s fashion and hair accessories, I was completely obsessed with the Spice Girls! Anyone else? I actually own all the dolls and wouldn't dare get rid of them. Let's reminisce for a minute about some fabulous 90s things that I don't think will ever go out of style (ok, maybe they will got out of style, but I'll still love them just the same).

Welcome to Good Burger, home of the Good Burger, can I take your order?

If ya wannabe my lover....

I LOVED Daria!!

Clarissa always had all the answers.

Who likes you?

Once I got this phone I thought I was the shiz!

I think I read almost every book.

If my coworkers wouldn't make fun of me, I would use Lisa Frank.

GIGA PETS!! Who had one??

Leonardo was a total hunk (swoon)

Mmmmmmm.

 And these guys were always my favorite.
(photos)
~~~~~~~~~~~
Clearly there are tons of other 90s things, but these are some of my faves.
What do you remember most about the nineties? Oh, and please tell me which of my hair bows is your pick!
Happy Tuesday!
  2. Ohhh I remember the bow phases. I like your Christmas one!! I used to rock these out too. My mom was a doll maker so she made me new ones all the time! hehe.
    I miss the 90's. I have the some of the Spice Girl dolls & I think I have a lollipop somewhere of theirs. GOOD BURGER!! Rockin!! I remember all of this. I never had dream phone but I wanted it.
    Sweet post!! I was a Backstreet Boy girl myself but Nsync still ruled!
  4. Clearly, you were quite the mini fashionista as a child :) I definitely had my own Jackson Pollock hair bow as well, in different colors. And a see-through phone. And lots of Lisa Frank!
  5. Oh my gosh! I remember scrunchies all too well but had almost forgotten the big bows. The Christmas one made me smile. Very impressive collection there!
    My other unforgettable 90s memory - seeing lots of flannel shirts. The really preppy girls at my school had pink and/or lavender flannel. :-)
  6. Living in the south, I'm used to seeing large bows. My favorite would have to be the first Fourth of July one with the sunflower. My least favorites would have to be the lacy, frilly ones.
    I vaguely remember Good Burger.
  7. Hilarious! Those bows are out of control! I can only imagine them taking up your entire head as a kid. Too funny!
  8. Girl, you did NOT play some N Sync! I LOVE them - saw them three times in the 90's :) And had the Lance and JC dolls, too! Ha!
    And that summertime bow is adorbs!
  9. my parents once used a gigantic bow to bribe me to enter a kiddie beauty pageant. also, i know i'm a bit older than you, but what about Hey Dude, California Dreams and Hang Time for some 90s TV favorites?
  10. The basket of strawberries is TOTALLY my favorite!!! LOVE IT!
    I had a giga pet--it was a cat. I'm sure she had a name...I just don't remember it. And I think we should work to make Lisa Frank socially acceptable at work. I'd rock it all the time!!
  12. This 90's post really entertained me! It reminds me of the time when my mom always tried to put different hair accessories (like that) on my hair. Anyway, what I love on your bows collection is Minnie and your classic one.
  14. Oh my gosh, this is classic and those bows are so 90’s! My favorites of the collection would have to be the fishy one, basket of strawberries and 1st frilly bow. The Christmas one is also a keeper.
    I’m not afraid to admit that I loved the Spice Girls. Daria and Clarissa Explains It All were both great shows. I remember the Dream Phone and when those clear phones came out, you just had to have one ;) I also had a Giga Pet and N’Sync was the best. I remember going to the concert!
  28. I am on such sensory overload here, I don't even know what to do with myself. The bows are incredible. Being a fellow Southern girl, I was raised with bows and ribbons in my hair as well... Too bad mine are probably long gone through all of the moves that I've made. My mom also had custom holiday onesies and dresses made for us for each holiday. Those were doozies as well. Probably had matching bows.
    As for the 90s, remember Salute Your Shorts? And I totally had a Tamagotchi (sp?). Also, do you remember the Warheads fad? Or was that just my small mountain town of Kentucky that was obsessed with that?
    Thanks for all of the great flashbacks!
  54. Camping out on asphalt for 55 hours for front row NSYNC tickets,with my 6 nieces and thinking illegal fantasies about Justin Timberlake who was 17 at the time, and well, The Bumpkin wasn't, let's leave it at that. JT's legal, and I would have my bumpkin way with him in a flash!
    I kept it clean for you Julie.
    I am real sorry about you being one of those bow girls, did it leave any permanent damage darling?
