Lately I have gotten some comments asking me to do a make-up how-to video. I'm planning on doing the video (yay!) but first I thought it may be a good idea to address my skin care routine. After all that's where it starts, right?
I have been asked by so many people so many times "How do you have such great skin?" Well, first of all, I think I was genetically predispositioned to have the skin I do (my mom's skin is amazing). Second, I have a serious daily routine that I stick to. So, my blog family, I am letting you in on my secrets ;)
Step 1: Dove Beauty Bar (twice a day, morning and night)
Step 2: St. Ives Apricot Scrub (one-two times a week)
Step 3: Avon Nurtura Cream (twice a day, morning and night)
This is honestly one of the cheapest skin routines you can have! All together this stuff is about $15! Yes, I said fifteen!!! I know, that's ridiculous! I have experimented with different products from time to time since I don't have very sensitive skin. But I always come back to these three products. I haven't found anything that I like better. I don't think that good skin has to break the bank. Or be extremely painful. Find products and a routine that works for you and STICK TO IT.
I know it's hard not to snatch up the newest product and test it out, but my skin is something that I don't experiment with anymore.
What's your skin care routine? Is it a cheapy like mine? Or are you breaking the bank?
Have a fabulous Thursday, everyone!

I have been looking at a cream to use at night. Right now I am using something from Clinque that was part of a free gift. I haven't been using it long enough to see any results though. I may have to check this one out.
ReplyDeleteI always get compliments on my skin - even from estheticians! They always want to know what I use :O) St Ives! Since I was 12! I love their warming scrub!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading my mind! I've ALWAYS had terrible skin, and just this morning I was lamenting my latest breakout (which has no direct cause, as far as I can tell!). I think I'll be putting these products on my shopping list and give your routine a try. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeletei wish that i could stick to a good regiment! my face tends to become too used to whatever i am using...so i have to switch it up in order to kill breakouts!
ReplyDeletei have actually found that my fave facial cleanser is Clean and Clear's facial scrub!
i swear by that apricot scrub!! LOVE inexpensive, successful skincare products!
ReplyDeleteWhat GREAT ideas Julie... love all your products you featured--I'm in agreement on the St Ives scrubs.
ReplyDeleteAs for me, I am a Clinique junkie--my Mom always taught me from a young age to take care of my skin so I stick to their eye creams, moisturizing lotions, and clarifying cleanses =)
You're the 2nd pretty lady that I've heard uses the Dove bar! I might have to try it out. I have a cheapy routine too. I'm not complaining though, there's more money to spend on clothes! : )
ReplyDeleteI love the Peter Thomas Roth Max All Day Moisture Defense Lotion and his pumpkin enzyme face mask. They are kind of pricey, but totally worth it!
ReplyDeleteI actually just started using Beauty Society and I love, love, love it! You are young enough not to have to worry about fine lines and such yet. I used to use the apricot scrub but my dermatologist said it has bits of fiberglass or something in it and it essentially cuts up your skin? I don't know...try this www.beautysociety.com. Hope you are doing well honey! Kori xoxo
ReplyDeleteWonderful tips. Your skin is amazing! =) You have no idea how excited I am to view your upcoming how-to makeup video. I'm hoping to learn a few new tricks of the trade. Your eyes always look so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, Julie! ~Liz
P.S. My goodness, I remember when you only had a few followers and look at you now...285 and growing. I'm so happy for you, and well, your blog ROCKS! =)

I too am a fan of Dove! I have lately been using some Origins cleanser which is a bit more expensive, but I just LOVE the scent! I need to try that apricot scrub soon. :)
ReplyDeleteCheap or not, those products you're using seem to be doing the trick!! You've got some great skin missy!... and yes please DO a make-up tutorial. I'd love to see your technique!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing ! I always use St. Ives love it :)
ReplyDeleteLove you skin routine--- very simple and easy. I love Nu Skin products and Avon myself.
ReplyDelete15 bucks for all that? I love it. St Ive's is such a girls' best friend. I adore the exfoliating.
ReplyDeleteI love that apricot scrub! I use a Neutrogena face wash which I love. And I also use their SPF Moisturizer. I can't wait to see your video!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, great post. I'm going to try out some of your pick's...they are such great value and obviously effective...you look gorgeous. I think the makeup video would be great.

I've used Dove forever - I've tried the expensive stuff and always come back. Glad there's another Dove-lover out there!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing! I use Clean & Clear face wash. I'm allergic to benzyl peroxide so I have to be careful which products I buy. Also, Olay moisturizer with SPF in the mornings, and Olay age defining night cream at night.
