Matchbook's Guide to Being a Southern Belle

(Images: Matchbook Mag March 2013)

I can't get enough of the March issue of Matchbook. I shared their lovely feature of Sheridan French here and simply couldn't resist drawing your attention to the lovely piece above - How to Be a Southern Belle. They call it tongue-in-cheek, but honestly, it's almost spot-on. Being a southern belle does involve playing a certain role (a character) to an extent and Matchbook has managed to make it seem just as wonderful as it actually is! If you live below the Mason-Dixon you must click over and be completely charmed. If you don't, click over and be jealous you don't ;)

This was one of my favorite articles in the latest issue...except I'm getting a little tired of the 'Southern is SO hot right now' concept.

The Southern Belle baby names are just precious though!

OMG I saw this but didn't really read it. Thanks to this, I want to name my daughter Clara June...You know you're southern when you have a two name first name. My dad's name is "Joe Pete". Total southern gentleman!! Thanks for making me actually read this :) xo

I enjoyed this section, even though I'm certainly not a Southern belle, just a Hoosier who happened to live in the south for a few years. I did think it was funny, though, they listed Now and Then in the movies list. That definitely took place in Indiana!

"Now and Then" was filmed (some or most of it) in Savannah, GA. Savannah is just full of Southern Belles Y'all.
