Maintain that Summer Glow

One of the things I love most about summer is that beautiful bronze glow you get from lounging by the pool, gardening, beach vacations, and taking in every moment of daylight you can. I will admit, I've done my fair share of sun worshiping - yes, even laying in the tanning bed. In the last couple years, though, I've become much more cautious about taking care of my skin when it comes to sun care. Sure, I still spend time outside but opt for the high SPF instead of tanning oil.

Below is my routine for (safely) maintaining that summer glow for a little while longer.

I've never been a fan of self-tanners. Instead, I opt for Jergens Natural Glow - it gives more natural color and does it more gradually. Smooth, exfoliated skin (face and body) is my number one tip when using any kind of self tanner. I like to mix my moisturizer and body lotion with the Jergens - put both in your hand and mix before applying. I think it gives a smoother, more even finish. After I've applied the lotion, I wash my hands, focusing between my fingers and wrists - which tend to be spots that turn a little orange-y. Also, focus on ankles and knees.

I love the idea of mixing body lotion with Jergens! I'll have to try that next time. :)
