If I Die Young, Bury Me in Satin

Bucket list: A list of things you want to do or experience before you 'kick the bucket.'

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Have you ever thought about a bucket list? Ever written one out? I think it's something that everyone should have. We all have things that we want to do or experience before we die, but do we ever make an effort to do them?
There are many things in this life that I hope to experience, many years that I hope to still have in front of me. For now, though, here is my list.....
1. Get married
2. Travel around Europe
3. Stomp grapes to make wine
4. Have children
5. Have my picture made with someone famous
6. Have my breath taken away by a sunset
7. Dance in the rain
8.Sleep outside under the stars
9. Live abroad for a year
10. Volunteer in an orphanage
This song brought me to tears the first time I heard it. I'm pretty sure that even if you don't like country music this song will touch you. I thought it was perfect for this post.
So put on your best boys, and I'll wear my pearls
What I never did is done
  A penny for my thoughts, oh no, I'll sell 'em for a dollar
They're worth so much more after I'm a gonner
and maybe then you'll hear the words that I've been singin'
Its funny when you're dead how people start listenin'
~~~~~~~~~

What's on your bucket list?

First off, thank you SO much for doing my guest post today! I love it (and I LOVE that beach bag!) It's actually funny....I have many of the same things you have in your bag! So no wonder we get along :-)

As for your bucket list. Great list. People may think that things like 6, 7, 8 are silly (like I used to), but once I had Lallie and she had me dance in the rain, enjoyed a sunset and slept under the stars, you see these things in a whole differnt light and it becomes who you are. It's not just the "doing" part of it, it's the whole scene surrounding the dancing in the rain. One of my absolute favorite memories in life. It's the simple things.

First... I have been so busy that I haven't been able to stop by and say hello like I want to. But your new header is simply radiant. I adore it. And this post... one of my favorites.
You just *must* get around to dancing in the rain. It's so heavenly.
Going to add this song to my iPod.

I don't have anything huge on my bucket list, I just want to live to see my son grow up.

I want to see him be a man, a good man and a good father. I want him to choose better than I did for a spouse, so that his kids have two good parents the first go around.

I want to see him happy as an adult, educated and in a job he loves.

I'm just boring I guess - I have everything that makes me happy

I've *always* wanted to stomp grapes for wine! Just... without falling over. Did you ever see that viral video clip of the newscaster stomping grapes and tumbling down on LIVE tv?! Look that up! :)

I can check 6 of those off.

I am so waiting for that breath taking sunset. I have witnessed some beautiful ones, but not breath taking.

I have never heard this song...it is so sad, but beautiful!

New to that song and band. WOW! It is sooo good!
I love your bucket list. Have many of the same:)
I always wanted to just hold abandoned babies at an orphanage and considered joining Mother Teresa's order when I was younger....maybe someday :)

Great list! I've done 5 things on your list! I don't like the idea of a Bucket List because I always feel like if I say oh - before I die, then I'll put it off forever, that's why I made my 25 Before 25 list! Giving me a deadline will just mean I have a TON of things to do in the next 2 years! And when that list is done, I'll make another one! This way, when I'm like 75, I can say wow...I sure did a lot!

Happy Wednesday!

I just love your bucket list! I've been seeing a couple of these lately. I really need to write one out. There are just ideas floating in my head, but I need to actually write them down on paper so I can start doing them!

Tarver said...

All of your items on your list are on mine as well, plus learning italian, falling in love, standing on a broadway stage, be dipped and kissed on the brooklyn bridge and living in Manhattan for at least 6 months.

This has inspired me to eventually post my own bucket list on my blog!
