Big Time Lovin for the Big Easy

Today is day number six in the love fest! Woo hoo! Thank you so much for your response to yesterday's beauty post. I'm glad to hear that you all are addicted to Burt's and that you are going to try some of my products! You won't be disappointed!

Today I would like to show some love to one of my favorite US cities- New Orleans, Louisiana! And it's a perfect time given that the Saints are playing (read winning) in the Super Bowl this weekend!

I went to NOLA last year for a psychology conference (which also happened to be during Mardi Gras) and I absolutely fell in love! It has so much personality and character! Not to mention the food is out of this world!  If you have never traveled south to New Orleans you must! I'm trying to talk my parents into taking a little trip there this year.

While I was there I did lots of touristy things, of course! Here are some pictures from my trip...

The last picture was one that I took of a house all decked out for Mardi Gras. I couldn't believe how people decorate their homes for Mardi Gras like most of us decorate for Christmas! It was so cool!

And as you can seen from the two pictures above, the Mardi Gras floats are amazing! We also took this really neat ghost tour of the French Quarter. You can see from the pic that I was very excited about it! The other pictures are some that I took while walking around the city, landmarks and anything else that I thought was cool :)

Have you all been to NOLA? What did you think? Would you like to travel there?

Don't forget my giveaway ends today! Go enter!

Happy Saturday, everyone!

I just wanted to tell you I went out this morning and bought some of that mascara. I will let you know how I like it. NOLA is a place that I want to go and see this year! I am jealous you were there during Mardi Gras. How fun!

I grew up in Baton Rouge, and my dad's giant Italian family is all in New Orleans, so I consider NOLA as much of my home as Baton Rouge. There is nothing I love more than that city, the people who live there, and everything that goes with it.

Needless to say, living in Alabama for the past five years, I have become the "girl who makes red beans and rice, jambalaya, and gumbo," and wouldn't have it any other way.

Geaux Saints!

Thanks, Julie, for featuring our beloved New Orleans! I certainly don't want to burst anybody's bubble, but I don't care if I evah go back. Maybe one day I'll share my story, but I'll give you a heads up that it involves rats.

I loved New Orleans for the history, but hate the food and it was really dirty, which surprised me. I had never visited the south, so it was a big culture shock for me. I would love to go back though! Kori xoxo
